The second, help your children to learn self-discipline. When your children are facing difficult times you need to help them, manage themselves for this is a responsibility of the parent. Encouraging them is the best way to help them to be able to solve the problem by themselves. Ensuring that your children have good self-discipline is very vital because they will grow to better and successful people.

Not taking it personal is the other tip. Your child can be upset and walk out it is not about you hence to not be very quick to attack back. If your child is upset, be careful when handling him or her, try to open a good platform for you to talk so that you can solve the problem easily and in the right way instead of creating more problems.

Also, you should avoid power struggles. As a parent you are always in charge, and you need to tell your children what they should do, and they are supposed to do that, but it is not good to show them that you are always the boss. You need to fully understand your children and sometimes give them the freedom that they want so that you avoid the struggle for power.

Furthermore, take some time for laughter. It is a good way to make the children feel free. It is also a good way to help the child with the transition so that even when he or she leaves you the connection will still be there.
